How to Arrange Artwork in an Artful Way

Hi there! Hope you’re having a great weekend. Can you believe we’re only 2 days away from Christmas?!  Where has this year gone?

Only 4 months ago I posted Choosing Interior Wall Paint Colors (which actually feels more like 4 weeks ago, its unbelievable how quickly time flies) . My husband and I chose white walls to let our wall art, furniture, and accent pieces POP.  For those of you who are new to Biscuits and Bulgogi, we remodeled a beautiful 1955 Ranch — I use the word remodeled very loosely as we are still in the process.

We have a few more rooms to complete, so the thought of funding home decor is not top of mind at the moment. BUT, I can’t help but plan and dream as I spend moments researching inspiration boards on Houzz.  If you haven’t discovered Houzz yet, I highly recommend setting up a free account and poking around.

What is Houzz? I’ll let them describe it best, it’s a “platform for home remodeling and design, bringing homeowners and home professionals together in a uniquely visual community.” Even cooler, you can now purchase products from their site!

Even cooler than that?  Once you install Honey you’ll save even more with member tested promo codes!

But I digress.

Nevertheless, I’ve been dreaming about ways to display our photos: wedding, family, and friends. Whatever route we take, it has to fit the house.  We’ve worked incredibly hard on the esthetic (inside and out) so the arrangement of our photos and artwork should fit perfectly.  As I continue to explore, I’m learning that displaying art, furniture, pillows, etc. is an artwork.  Which means, I want to be careful about our choices but have fun with the process too! Thank goodness my husband is here to give guidance and share is creative perspective.

To close, I think it’s worth repeating a quote from Choosing Interior Wall Paint Colors : Whatever updates you plan to make to your house, my advice is to make choices with your mind and heart (and be open to compromise). A house is a representation of your life, be proud of it and share it with those that bring you happiness.
