Keep Moving

Hi there! Hope everyone is having a great day.

Today has been a productive one. First thing this morning my husband and I took our rescue pup, Henry, on an hour hike to a local state park. The combination of fresh air, beautiful fall leaves, smell of trees and knowing we were doing something positive for ourselves and Henry felt therapeutic.

Now that we’ve moved into our home (although there’s still a lot of work to do before we can put our construction loan to bed), we are only 15 minutes from a beautiful state park. What a treat!  I hope that we make these hikes part of a monthly routine. I’m not going to lie, I felt SO out of shape.  My cardiovascular system is not use to hiking up hills nor am I very athletic, but I did it!  What was even more rewarding was seeing Henry have so much fun climbing up and down logs, hills, etc. His mama might have been struggling, but he was in his element.  #greatpyranessmixheaven

The hike definitely did a lot of good – mind and body – but I’m not an outdoorsy fitness lady on the regular.  I mostly rely on YouTube fitness videos, dvds and local classes with friends.  To be honest, I haven’t been working out regularly for the past two and half years which isn’t normal for me.  Now that we have our own space, more of a regular schedule and access to all things wifi, I can feel myself slowly finding my fitness groove coming back.  When I am easing my way back into a fitness schedule, I always fall back on JessicaSmithTv.  If you don’t know Jessica Smith, please get to know her and her cute French Bulldog, Peanut.  Seriously, hitting “play”  if only to see Peanut laying on her fitness mat is worth it.

JessicaSmithTv’s mission is to make fitness not only effective, but FUN! It’s about consistency without having to spend loads of your hard earned $$ at a gym.  A few days ago I discovered her Fall Back Into Fitness Free 5 Day Plan. These workouts are for all fitness levels, possibly too easy for an expert level. But like I said, her plans make it helpful to ease back into a routine.  Unfortunately, I have chronic lower back pain so I have to be careful about how I workout.  I can still push myself, but need to be very careful when it comes to technique.  #keepmoving #weaksciaticaisforthebirds #stretchingisyourfriend
